I may not be able to give you the definition of art, but I can certainly define the most important purpose of art: touching the heart. Nothing more, nothing less! I create art without limits, avoiding words like trendy, hip, and contemporary. In fact, I’m the opposite of trendy: my artistic creations on the white linen are timeless. I give my own vision of the art of painting with great love and care.
I am an experienced painter. It would even be safe to say: very experienced. I gained that experience during my training at the HKU University of the Arts in Utrecht, the Netherlands. That’s where I discovered, created, developed, and then started to share, my unique vision on the world of art.
I express my vision by saying that art should, in fact, be destined for a wide audience and should be made accessible to a broad target group. Art should live in my fingers and my hands, and should easily adjust to the art lover. And certainly not the other way around. It’s about time that art broke out of its so-called intellectual boundaries that connoisseurs could philosophize about for hours on end. Everyone should, in fact, be given the room to interpret paintings in their own way. That’s how I feel about the art of painting, and that’s how I want to paint.
In my vision on art I create plenty of room for your interpretation. I’m sure that I will strike the right note with you with my paintings, firmly embrace your style, fluently speak your language, and unconditionally tailor my brushstrokes to your personal wishes. I may not be able to give you the definition of art, but I can certainly define the most important purpose of art: touching the heart. Nothing more, nothing less!
I do paintings: portraits, events, still-lifes, abstract or, in fact, concrete and tack-sharp. That means that I translate the reality that is important or beautiful to you into images. In doing so, I like to give a personal touch to my paintings, so I don’t just simply paint by commission. Nevertheless, I do go along with my clients to a great extent, which makes unlimited adaptability an absolute must. I listen, think, create, take some distance, nod, and smile… and smiling is what I do together with you.
Companies and organisations are also discovering the advantages of tailored art. So, I welcome them with open arms. Personal art gives the appearance of an office or an organisation just that little bit of extra and, or so I feel, absolutely contributes to a more pleasant and humane working environment. Serene, modest pictures reflecting the industry, or rather abstract paintings in clear and bright colours. Anything is open to discussion.
On my linen I will tell the world more about your (work) space…. and, of course, about you.
